AHR-EXPO-day-one

Today marks the first day of the 2016 AHR Expo, as well as my first time attending a trade show. Needless to say, there’s a lot to take in.

If you’re an experienced AHR attendee then you probably already know what to expect. AHR, which is the largest HVAC/sheet metal show, attracts visitors and exhibitors from all over the world. If you’re a newbie, like me, you’ve probably already noticed that this year’s show, in Orlando, Florida, lives up to the hype.

Visiting AHR Expo is the equivalent of taking a crash course in everything HVAC and sheet metal works related. While I’ve spent plenty of time the past three months writing and learning about various aspects of the industry from the comfort of my own cubicle, there’s nothing quite as educational as seeing products and new techniques in person, and talking with people one-on-one about what sets their company apart.

So far, Mike McConnell, SNIPS editor, and I have spent the better half of the first day getting acquainted with the exhibit floor. We’ve been walking down aisle after aisle looking for products, companies and, of course, stories that would be of interest to you. Luckily, I believe we’ve already found some promising leads.

I’ve also been enjoying the Florida sunshine. Palm trees and 70 degree weather is certainly a nice change of pace for this Michigander.

Are you at AHR Expo? If so, be sure to stop by the BNP Media booth (#3244) to pick up the latest copy of SNIPS. Both Mike and I will also be there periodically throughout the expo. Also, visit our Twitter and Facebook pages for live updates.
